The design document that you will need to write throughout the course should follow the general structure of a research paper. Hence, it should have common sections such as an introduction, method part, discussion and a conclusion. The following gives you an overview of the suggested structure, i.e. it should give your group some guidance, but this is not meant to be an exhaustive/complete structure.
Title
Abstract
Introduction
Motivation / motivating use case
Definition of the interaction problem chosen
Related work (at least 5 scientific papers)
Identification of design question/research question. This research question will be motivated based upon the discussed literature/related work.
Evaluation measures with justification
Interaction design (How does your group approach the problem?)
Approach overview (with relevant background info)
Interaction modalities (robot perception, conversational interaction etc.) considered and justification
Subsections for each component considered (see previous point)
Interaction diagram
Implementation details
Evaluation
Evaluation question/research question (Here you refer back to the introduction where you mention your research question)
Study design and description of the experiment
Results (qualitative and quantitative)
Discussion
Conclusion
Appendix
Experiment material (questionnaire)
Individual contribution summary (every member should write half a page summary of what he/she worked on during the course and what she/he contributed to the success of the project)
Any other complementary material
